Is Amazon Prime worth the $79 after the 30 day free trial? I can only answer for me. It took me a couple years before shelling out the $79 – now, for me in CA it is $85 with tax (CA taxes everything!). I took a look at how often I ordered from Amazon, how much was I paying for shipping, was it $80 a year? Answer was no… that is why I kept putting it off. Keurig B31 Mini Coffee Maker Review

NOTICE: Keurig Recall (12/23/2014) – Keurig is recalling 6.6 million of its popular coffee makers after receiving “90 reports of burn-related injuries.” “Hot liquid could escape from certain MINI Plus Brewing System units during use,” the company said Tuesday. That is more likely “if the brewer is used to brew more than two cups in quick succession.”  Visit Keurig website for more information. It appears that if your Keurig B31 does not have a model # starting with K10 you are OK. The coffee makers are stamped with the model number K10 and were made between December 2009 and July 2014. They may have been purchased at a Kmart, Kohl’s, Target or Walmart , or directly from Keurig Green Mountain. _________________ My Review of the Keurig B31 The Keurig B31 Mini Coffee Maker is the baby of the Keurig line. Its bigger brothers, the Keurig B70, Keurig B40, Keurig B75, etc. all

Streamlight Nano Light – Review

The Nano Light by Streamlight is the best little LED flashlight you can buy. I’m a flashlight addict, I’ll admit that. But out of all the flashlights I own, this little Nano Light is my favorite. It is under $10, only 1.25″ long, lightweight, and man is it POWERFUL!  I put powerful in caps because I can not emphasize enough how bright this little, tiny light is. I’ve had mine for over a year now and the light is still going strong. If you are even thinking about whether to buy this little keychain flashlight or not… stop thinking… buy it today! Here are some specs: Case material is machined aircraft aluminum with anodized finish Parabolic shaped LED area optimizes beam performance 5mm white LED, impervious to shock with a 100,000 hour lifetime Up to 8 hours declining usable output 1.47-Inches length (I measured mine and it is only 1.25″

SOG Flash 1 Knife Review

The SOG Flash 1 knife is one of my favorite knives. My other favorite is my Kershaw Skyline Knife (read review here). The SOG Flash 1 is smaller than the Kershaw Skyline so is easier to carry in more situations. It is my main EDC knife (everyday carry). The clip sits slightly higher than the knife so when you clip it to your pocket (I normally carry in my front right pants pocket) the SOG knife sits below the pocket line. This makes the Flash 1 virtually invisible. So whether wearing dress slacks, jeans, or shorts no one can tell you are carrying a knife. Very discreet and won’t freak anyone out. Here is my SOG Flash 1 review: OK… about the knife. SOG has a pretty good reputation for quality. The Flash 1 is a quality little knife. Here are specs: Fast one-hand opening SOG Assisted Technology (SAT) with built

Breville 650XL Toaster Oven Review

The Breville 650XL Toaster Oven is one heck of a toaster oven! For years we were content with regular “toaster ovens” – you know, the kind you get at Walmart or Target in the $20 – $50 range. They work fine for most things. But the Breville Toaster Oven is more like a little oven. Oh yeah, it makes perfect toast. I thought toast was toast. Bread that was grilled on top and bottom. Breville toast does that but it is done perfectly. The sensors in the 4 element heating rods adjusts the heat and time based on your input – how many pieces of bread and how dark do you like your toast. Same with bagels using the bagel setting. This smart oven has advanced technology that adjusts the heating elements for optimum results every time. At first, after I decided to splurge on this toaster, I was concerned

Oblivion (2013) – Movie Review

6.8/10 Good but not that good. This Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman futuristic movie didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I liked Vanilla Sky… Oblivion, I think, tried to be clever like Vanilla Sky but fell short. The special effects were good. The concept was interesting. The acting was OK. Worth watching, just not as good as I had hoped it would be. Here is IMDB synopsis: A veteran assigned to extract Earth’s remaining resources begins to question what he knows about his mission and himself. (IMDB rated 7.1) My wife gave it 6/10. She did not really like it and was generous with the 6. She felt it wasn’t realistic in parts as to Tom Cruise’s actions. She, too, got bored in spots. The movie relied on Tom Cruise as the box office draw. For extra security they added Morgan Freeman who had a very small role. The pace

MUD – Movie Review

7/10 Good movie. MUD was an entertaining movie that both myself and wife enjoyed. Prior to watching MUD, we had no idea what it was about but knew it had Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon in it. Witherspoon didn’t have a very large part. But it was the 2 boys that made the film. Here’s IMDB synopsis: Two young boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trail and to reunite him with his true love. IMDB score was 7.8. It was refreshing to watch a movie with a storyline, good acting, no sex, no swearing, no special effects… just a good old fashion movie. It took place in Arkansas back country, small town. The boy’s adventure took me back to my youth and made me yearn for adventure. Although, slow in a few spots, overall, it was well paced and entertaining.

Meguiar’s #40 Vinyl/Rubber Cleaner

Meguiar’s #40 Vinyl/Rubber Cleaner is the best product, in my opinion, for all your auto outside rubber trim and inside vinyl. I thought I would do a quick review of this great product because I was just on Amazon ordering some more. I contemplated the gallon size ($24 + $10 shipping) because I love this product so much… but opted for the 16oz pump size for now ($11.49 free Prime shipping) – (Check current price here.) I’ve tried several different brands over the years, Mothers Back-to-Black Trim Care, MOTHERS Vinyl Protectant (which is my 2nd favorite), Armor All, Nu Vinyl Protectant, some boutique brands (Adam’s, and others)… most were pretty good. They made my vinyl outside trim on my 2003 Expedition look good – it is dark gray and would start to turn light gray and look washed out. The treatments brought back the dark gray and made it look new. Some

Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters Movie Review

Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters Movie Review

4/10 Not my type of movie. Language, violence and gore a little over the top for me. Maybe more for the younger crowd. I knew from the opening scenes that I would not like this movie when 9 year old Gretel said, “Is the oven hot enough now, Bitch!”  I can handle bad language and even blood and gore if done appropriately. I don’t like seeing little kids swearing. I don’t like gore for the sake of gore. I shouldn’t review this movie because I didn’t watch it all the way through… I disliked it that much. I gave it a 4/10 because the photography was good, special effects and makeup were good. It did not come across as a cheaply produced movie. Definitely not for young children. Not a good first date movie. I do not think most “older” audience would like this movie. Skip it. My wife gave
