The Equalizer Movie Review | Watch it!

The Equalizer – Denzel Washington – Movie Review Rating 8+/10 I really enjoyed this movie. If you like revenge or vigilante type movies, you will love The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington. The movie had a few flaws and weaknesses, but I was able to overlook those because Denzel Washington did a great job, as usual, as the lead. IMDB rated 7.6 — synopsis: A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can’t stand idly by – he has to help her. The storyline was a little weak but got the job done. The movie was exciting to watch and the ending left it open for sequels. If you enjoy Denzel Washington movies than you will enjoy The Equalizer. This movie reminded me of

The Guest – Movie Review | Disappointing

The Guest (2014) Movie Review Rating 5/10 The Guest started out fairly good. It had an Indie movie feel and a few recognizable actors. I was intrigued and thought this may be better than expected. It progressed well enough, kept you wondering when the other shoe was going to drop. That is when it started to go downhill for me. I had it as an 8 in my rating scale until about half way through… then the points started to drop because of implausibility and over-the-top situations. I can give movies a little leeway in plausibility, but once they cross the line and insult my intelligence, I start to lose interest. The Guest crossed that line for me…. and it started so well. IMDB rated 6.8 — synopsis: A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young

Gone Girl (2014) Movie Review | Over Hyped

Gone Girl Movie Review – The Bad & the Good Rating: 7/10 Gone Girl is good mystery thriller but over hyped. It was too long (2:30). Started slow first 30 minutes but is still worth watching. Ben Affleck is a mediocre actor and did an OK job in Gone Girl…. but he didn’t quite bring that “X factor” to elevate this movie into something special. The plot was there, the supporting actors were there, but it just missed that edge. The pre-hype of Gone Girl and the critic’s hype of what a great movie Gone Girl was has me baffled. Granted, it was a good movie but in my opinion, definitely not Oscar material. Maybe I have higher expectations or maybe the movie industry (including critics) have lowered the bar on what constitutes a great Oscar worthy movie. 2014 was not a good year for movies, so maybe Gone Girl

Keurig 2.0 & Keurig 2.0 Hack

Keurig 2.0 Reviews k550 & k560 – Pros & Cons I just purchased the Keurig 2.0 Model k560 (which is same as Model k550) at Costco for $129 ($149 – $20 special). The 560 included 48 Keurig K-cups, 4 Carafe size K-cups, and a 4 cup Carafe. Reviews have been poor but Costco has a great return policy so I thought I would take a chance. I’ve had the Keurig B31 (B30) Mini brewer for over a year now and love the convenience. We use our Cuisinart to brew a pot of coffee in the morning and the Keurig for the occasional cup during the day. I work from home and wanted a single cup coffee brewer in my office. The Keurig B31 (read my review here) doesn’t have a water reserve so the new Keurig 2.0 560 looked great, sporting an 80 oz. water reserve. Here’s where it gets interesting

Pocket Hose Review | Flex-Able Hose | UPDATED

The Pocket Hose or X-Hose  As Seen on TV, are flexi hoses that have gotten a lot of press – good and bad. So here is my Pocket Hose Review. UPDATED 6/13/15 – I guess my wife doesn’t read Bob’s Rants & Raves. While I was out of town 2 weeks ago, she bought the new & improved Pocket Hose Top Brass. It is the black one currently being advertised as being stronger and better. We’ll see how this one does. It was $29! I asked her why she bought it since we have had 6 fail on us so far? She said she really likes the pocket hose (when it works) because it is light weight and doesn’t kink, and it fits in a decorative clay pot by our front door. We will treat this one with kid gloves. No washing cars – unless we turn the water source

Best Quality Spin Mop backed by Best Warranty of 2-Years. 30-day free returns if defective. ORIGINAL REVIEW I recently purchased the Twist and Shout Mop  for my wife. The Twist and Shout Mop is the best spin mop. I researched and read tons of reviews on Amazon and other sites on Twist and Shout Mop, Hurricane Mop, Spin & Go Pro mop, and several other spin mop reviews. Most all do the same thing, offer a unique way to wring the water from the mop. Basically, it is like a salad spinner.

eFaucets.com bad experience – Review

I have to Rant about eFaucets.com for just a minute. I wanted a shower arm extender for my shower. My old one was leaking and in poor shape. I went to local hardware stores (Home Depot, ACE, Lowes) and could only find a 9″ extender… I wanted a longer one. I searched online and found one on eFaucets.com. See screenshot below taken 2/2/14. Notice the description says Delta Faucet Delta 12″ Adjustable Shower Arm. Just what I wanted. It also says “10 In-Stock”. I ordered it. It took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. Another part I ordered arrived in about 7 days. Makes me wonder if it was really in stock. Finally, it arrived. To my disappointment, the arm was only a 9″ extension… same as I found at Home Depot and Ace Hardware. This is NOT what I wanted or what description said it was. I went back online to

Ooma vs Vonage Review

I’ve had the Ooma Telo Phone Service since March 2013. Prior to switching to Ooma, I had Vonage internet phone service for about 5 years. I loved Vonage and had a regular line and a dedicated fax line for about $40/month. I work from home and use the phone and fax for business. The main complaint I had with Vonage was the fees kept increasing. I started at about $34/mo. for both phone and fax and slowly they kept increasing the fees – those little taxes and fees tacked to your bill. By March 2013 those fees grew to $17/mo. I hate companies that advertise low prices then tack on high fees. Or internet companies that advertise low prices to get you to their page only to find out when checking out that the shipping and handling fees are more than double anyone else. Cost of Ooma vs Vonage As

Best Dog Collar Light Review | Nite Ize Spotlit Light

Best Dog Collar Clip-On Light Nite Ize Spotlit clip-on dog collar light is the best dog collar light you can buy. I have the white light. I wasn’t interested in colored lights. The white light is very bright and visible for at least a couple football fields or further. The Nite Ize dog collar light can be set to blink or not blink. I do not like blinking lights on my dog, so always set it to not blink. You can hold the on/off button on the back down for a few seconds to switch between blinking or not blinking. So what is so special about this dog collar light? I’ve tried several lights over the years, some good, some not so good. Then I found the Nite Ize Spotlit clip on dog collar light. It is VERY bright The clip is very strong – Secure stainless steel carabiner The on/off
