Gerber 30-000417 Dime Micro Tool Review

Gerber 30-000417 Dime Micro Tool Review

I did a lot of research. The Leatherman PS4 sounds like it may edge out the Gerber Dime Mirco Tool ever so slightly but at a premium in price. I carry the Gerber Dime multitool loose in my pocket with my keys. It was a little heavy to attach to key chain. I’ve used it a handful of times in the last 6 months – mostly the pliers and package opening tool. This is a well made quality tool. Not meant for heavy duty tasks – it is a pocket tool. Costs about $15 at Amazon.com. The Leatherman P4 costs about $23 at Amazon.com.. Save the $7-$8 and get the Gerber Dime Multi-tool! loan for poor The Gerber Dime Micro package opening tool is great! Opens those hard to open plastic sealed items with ease. The knife was sharp out of the box but I sharpened it with my Sypderco

OZ the Great and Powerful (2013) Movie Review

OZ the Great and Powerful (2013) Movie Review

7/10 Enjoyable movie. Fun for entire family. Rated PG. Disney Movie. It was nice watching a fun movie without sex, nudity, strong language. The violence was very minimal and not objectionable. IMDB rates this 6.6 with synopsis: A small-time magician is swept away to an enchanted land and is forced into a power struggle between three witches. At first I wasn’t sure if this would be more for children and too silly for adults. I was still wondering the same thing 20 minutes into the film and asked my wife if she would rather watch something else… she said she wanted to keep watching this. As the movie progressed I got more invested in it and found myself enjoying the story. This movie answers the question of how did the Wizard of Oz become the Wizard of Oz? How did he get there, who is he? And what about the

Identity Thief – Movie Review

6/10 Fun movie. Light comedy, worth watching as long as you are not expecting a great movie or a roll on the floor laughing (ROFL) movie. Jason Bateman (Sandy) gets his identity stolen by the very funny Melissa McCarthy (Dianna). IMDB synopsis: Mild-mannered businessman Sandy Patterson travels from Denver to Miami to confront the deceptively harmless-looking woman who has been living it up after stealing Sandy’s identity. This is a cute movie that grows on you. A little slow in the beginning but starts to pick up once Bateman gets to Florida to confront McCarthy. A little “over-the-top” now and then, but all in all worth renting. My wife gave it 6/10 – good, but a little silly at times. She enjoyed it and would recommend it to a friend. IMDB rates it 5.2/10 . I must have been in a relaxed mood when we watched it and found it

Kershaw Skyline Knife Review

Kershaw Skyline Knife Review

Kershaw Skyline Knife – The best EDC knife Kershaw Skyline pocket knife is a great knife, fairly low profile, very sharp, easy open. I love this Skyline knife. It is my EDC (every day carry) knife. The clip allows knife to sit fairly low in my pocket so tip doesn’t stick out too much (about 1/2″) and shout “I’m carrying a knife!” as many of my other knives do. I like it to be discreet. The Kershaw Skyline Knife is not an assist opening knife, which initially I wasn’t sure about since I like assisted opening knives — but this knife is so smooth, it will flick open with minimal effort using the flipper. The blade comes extremely sharp. It is perfect size for EDC. I’ve used it to open packages, cut up cardboard boxes, scrape crap off my shoes, cut fruit… blade is still sharp. It slices through oranges

Side Effects – Movie Review

8/10 Put Side Effects on your must see list. Clever story, good acting, well done movie. Rated 7.2 on IMDB. Hard to describe without giving anything away… here is IMDB’s synopsis: A young woman’s world unravels when a drug prescribed by her psychiatrist has unexpected side effects. technology industry title My wife also liked it and gave it 7+/10 – she wasn’t as thrilled with the ending as I was. She said it was a little confusing.  Side Effects movie is a well written, directed and acted movie with many named movie stars – including Catherine Zeta-Jones who I haven’t seen for a while. Jude Law played the husband and the star of the movie was Rooney Mara (a name I wasn’t familiar with). Side Effects may not be a great film, but it stands out from all the other cookie cutter films I’ve seen lately. Watch it and let me

Gun Regulations – Good or Bad?

Will getting tough on gun laws prevent tragedies such as Sandy School massacre? I say Yes and No. Do we need AK47 assault rifles? Maybe Yes and No. The main problem is not with the guns themselves. It is a society problem. Our society produced the type of person that would go out and buy the gun and turn it on children and other human beings. We have very realistic video games where you blow the bad guys head off. You walk down the street in the games and kill everyone in site. In the 50s we had violent westerns. But those westerns had good guys and bad guys. The bad guys were killers, the good guys would round up the bad guys without killing them if possible. Growing up in the 50s did not produce a large crop of sickos that went out and killed in mass. same day

Fiscal Cliff and Social Security

For some reason, Republicans want to cut or change Social Security benefits. For years they have been borrowing from the fund and spending the money on pet projects. Now, they claim the system is going broke. Suggestion – instead of cutting benefits, stop borrowing from the fund, reduce SS fraud, and figure out how to increase funding of this important program. Once again, the poor and middle class will suffer if SS benefits are reduced. It is rumored that President Obama may cave in and eliminate or drastically reduce the Cost of Living increases built into Social Security. Think about who this will affect – not the wealthy who do not depend on Social Security, not members of Congress who do not rely on Social Security – but the poor and middle class that depend on Social Security. A grandmother, living alone, who worked all her life and raised a

Romney’s Taxes or Lack Of…

Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, accused Mitt Romney of paying no taxes for 10 years. This move is very similar to Obama’s election in 2008 where Republicans accused Obama of not being born in the USA. Obama’s birth certificate was fodder for all kinds of conspiracy theories and accusations that exist even today… even though his birth certificate was finally released. Conspiracy theories claim it was doctored. Back to Romney… he can put an end to speculation that he paid no taxes by producing the last 10 years of tax returns. But even if he does so, will conspiracy theories continue claiming they were doctored? Except in this case, the IRS can confirm or deny his released returns accuracy. The tax return Romney did release shows that much of his income was sheltered in foreign countries such as the Cayman Islands and Switzerland. Could this be the fall of Romney
